Susan Lohrer has been editing my books, fiction and nonfiction, for three years. Even though I am under contract and have the benefit of publishing house editors, I always have Susan work with me throughout the creation of my manuscript. She not only has excellent editing skills, she has the ability to discern what I really want to say and then gives me some options of how to say it. She keeps a style sheet for me, and I never have to tell her how my publisher wants certain details handled, like capitalizing deities, using colons, italics, etc. Her skills go far beyond the usual editing one expects, it feels more like a partnership.
